I was born in East Anglia , but grew up and was educated in Leicester until l left to study art at Loughborough College of Art. After a Fine Art degree l moved to Brighton to complete a postgraduate teaching course. I then moved to Andover in Hampshire to take up a post teaching art in a Comprehensive school, where l spent many years in a very successful Art dept. This was followed by teaching part-time as a ceramics and sculpture lecturer in a further education college. Although largely self-taught, I started working professionally as a potter in 1991.
I still teach privately and offer lessons or workshops to individuals or small groups. I also give demonstrations to larger groups.
My studio is located at my home in Parracombe, North Devon. This relocation was in 2009, and has afforded the opportunity to establish a larger studio in a beautiful part of the Country. I have shown work with a number of galleries in England, Wales and Scotland and until recently, exhibited regularly at some of the major UK ceramic events. I now sell almost exclusively from my studio.
My pottery forms an essential part of my life and constantly gives me pleasure in knowing that people enjoy using one of my pieces in the everyday ritual of preparing and eating food.
